Survey: People Living With HIV and Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT)

Online / January 13-28, 2011

The International Community of Women Living With HIV and AIDS (ICW Global) and GNP+ are holding a range of consultations with people living with HIV on the prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT), in order to inform the development of a new set of guidance. The consultations focus on the first two components/prongs of PMTCT:

  • primary prevention of HIV infection among women of childbearing age
  • prevention of unintended pregnancies among women living with HIV

People living with HIV have a crucial contribution to make in determining how PMTCT services are designed and implemented. There are several ways people living with HIV can take part, including participating in an online consultation, an online survey, through focus group discussions and on an expert teleconference. This process will ensure that guidance that is developed reflects the experiences and views gathered.

People living with HIV can take part in the e-survey now through until January 28, 2011 and is available in English, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. All responses will be anonymous and confidential.
