What is the Prevention Now! Campaign?

The Prevention Now! Campaign is a global initiative led by the Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE) to increase access to existing prevention methods, especially female and male condoms, in order to stem the spread of HIV, reduce unintended pregnancy, and improve the sexual and reproductive health of women, men, and young people worldwide.

How do I get involved?

If you or your organization would like to join the Prevention Now! Campaign, please sign the appropriate petition below. By signing up, you will receive updates about educational events, breaking news, and opportunities to take action. Please note that organizations that endorse the Campaign will be automatically listed on our Global Campaign Support page, unless otherwise specified.

What are examples of Prevention Now! activities and actions?

Prevention Now! has conducted a variety of activities and actions in the U.S. and internationally.

Educational activities include:

  • Informational teleconferences on female condom products and advocacy
  • Press conferences at important fora, such as the International AIDS Conference
  • Breaking news email updates

Actions include:

  • International NGO sign-on letters in support of female condoms
  • Meetings with key decision-makers, such as funders, government officials, and U.S. mission representatives 
  • Rapid-response letters to the editor

In addition, Prevention Now! hosted its first female condom advocacy training in June 2009 with NGO and community leaders in Uganda. For more information about the training, please click here.

Does Prevention Now! fund organizations or campaigns involved in female condom advocacy?

No, unfortunately Prevention Now! cannot provide financial assistance to organizations or campaigns promoting female condom advocacy on the ground. Prevention Now! can, however, provide informational resources and other capacity-building opportunities. For more information please feel free to contact us.
